Teamsters VIP+ Plan

Voluntary Income Protection Plus Plan

Teamster Members help build America. They keep industries running, supply chains flowing, and communities supported. Because of that commitment, Members have access to exclusive voluntary benefits designed specifically for them.

Most Teamster Members rely on their paycheck to support their families and cover everyday expenses. If an illness, injury, surgery, or medical loss of DOT or FAA certification prevented you from working, your paycheck could stop, but your bills would not.

The Teamsters VIP+ Plan was designed for situations like this, helping protect the income you depend on.

PROTECTION BUILT FOR TEAMSTERS

During open enrollment, all actively working, U.S.-Based, full-dues paying Teamster Members are guaranteed accepted, with no medical exams or health questions required.

Both full-time and part-time Members are eligible to enroll. Coverage is voluntary, and Members must enroll to receive protection.

INCOME PROTECTION IN ACTION:
TEAMSTERS VIP+ PLAN EXAMPLE OF COST

A 29 year-old Teamster with $2,300 in rent, $300 car payment, and $120 in insurance enrolled in STD and LTD for about $60 per month. If an approved disability claim occurred, the benefits would cover those essential monthly expenses with money remaining for groceries, gas, and other everyday necessities.

Now think about what you currently spend $60 per month on. Few things are more important than protecting yourself and the income you work hard to earn.

Use the cost calculator below to see how the VIP+ Plan could work for you.

SHORT-TERM DISABILITY

Full-Time Member coverage available up to $2,000 per week in $50 increments. Part-Time Member coverage available up to $250 per week in $50 increments.

LONG-TERM DISABILITY

Member coverage available up to $7,500 per month in $50 increments. Stackable with other eligible benefits, up to 70% of pre-disability earnings.

INCOME LIFE WITH AD&D

Member coverage available up to $500,000 in $10,000 increments. Spouse and Dependent life coverage available when Member life is elected.

Coverage for Pilots and CDL Holders

PILOTS

The Teamsters VIP+ Air Plan covers Pilots who lose their Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Medical Certification. If you are grounded for medical reasons, the VIP+ Air Plan provides financial assistance while you recover and work to get recertified with the FAA.

CDL LICENSE

The NEW Teamsters VIP+ Plan covers CDL holders facing medical disqualification. If your CDL is denied for medical reasons, the plan provides income support while you seek medical assistance to regain qualification.
